Transferring Assets to Your Trust Takes Paperwork

Let's review the question by the widow whose husband recently passed away. Now that he has died, she has learned that there were some assets that he owned that were never placed into the trust's ownership.

Those of you who have taken my free online Multi-Media course know that probate is a court process used to pass title to assets we own at the time of our death.

The way a trust avoids probate is by taking title of your assets out of your name individually and placing the assets into the title of the trustee of your trust. The trust instrument then contains language that describes who takes over as trustee when you pass away.

In order for a revocable living trust to work and avoid probate, you have to transfer title to your assets to the trustee of the revocable living trust.

Failing to keep assets in the title of the revocable living trust was one of the biggest mistakes I came across in my legal career.

People would set up a revocable living trust, years would pass by (with them buying and selling assets), and they would get sloppy and not put title to their new assets into the revocable living trust.

Only after a death occurred did we learn that they had been sloppy in the titling of their assets.

Can this be fixed after death? Sometimes, but that is the topic of another article.

For this article, let's focus on the point that a revocable living trust will work only on those assets that you give it.

To get the most out of your revocable living trust, you should review your assets with your professional advisor to make sure you are holding title in the correct way.

Usually, it will be as follows: John Smith and Jane Smith, trustees of the Smith Revocable Trust, dated January 1, 2005.

Good luck and until next time,

Phil Craig

P.S. Feel free to forward this on to any friends.

Autism Activities For Children

Having your own world. This would probably describe what autism is all about. It is a very common neural disorder affecting millions of people all over the world. Social interaction is impaired as well as communication. Studies show that parents usually detect this disorder in the first two years of life. It is important to understand how to deal with autistic children for them to have normalcy in their daily routine. Autism activities for children truly help parents and caregivers to address this concern. Here are some suggestions:

1. Mimicking. Autistic children are great mimickers! This is because they enjoy repetition. Try to write down different animals with their corresponding sounds then let the child say it with you. Also try different transportation sounds such as those in trains and ships. You can also go into teaching them actions like brushing the teeth, fixing the hair, etc! Simple everyday routine you can inject within your fun game.

2. Singing. Because autistic children are apt at making just about any sound, might as well teach them simple songs. This will enable them to make sensible sounds than just shouting. Fun common tones are ideal because it is relaxing. Singing would be a good way to release anxiety to your child.

3. Art and Board games. Try to educate your child with doing simple art work. This will help in lengthening their attention span and help in the calming process. Easy board games are also suggested to facilitate mental development. These also give the child a sense of fulfillment if he is able to finish and win it! It is important though not to give them the difficult games as it might irritate them. Try giving them first those simply puzzles or those basic building blocks.

4. Sports. This is one of the autism activities for children that can certainly boost his social interaction and confidence. Choose sports that are organized and do not necessarily need too much sensory arousal. You will see that some autistic children can very well exceed in sports. It is important to guide and supervise them at first because autistic children have difficulty adapting to change and developing social interaction.

5. Safety. This is probably the most important thing among all the autism activities for children. Children suffering from the disorder require more attention from their parents when it comes to safety and protection. Include in his daily routine the dos and don'ts of going around the house. Make simple policies that would prevent common accidents. Constant acting out and reinforcement will inculcate in the child how to be safe.

Although not all autistic children grow about living a normal life, some actually do. At least in learning normal routines that can help them interact and be independent. Helping them in their early childhood will reduce or eliminate the negative effects of autism. The key is to teach them in their early years. Autism activities for children are coping instruments both the parents and the child can benefit from.

How You Can Save With a Dental Plan Vs Dental Insurance

I'm compelled by good nature to share an incredible discovery. In doing some comparisons of a dental plan to a dental insurance, I discovered some very important distinctions. With the recent need to cut back on many of our expenses, a vast majority of us are facing the struggle to keep our health insurance cost at a minimum. And for many of us, the added expense of dental insurance is something that is put on the back burner until it's too late. Even if you have dental coverage with your current insurance policy, when it's time to visit the dentist we find that the insurance policy does not cover everything we think it should. Have you ever tried to use your dental insurance when you have had your teeth whitened? Good luck. With a dental plan, cosmetic dentistry is covered.

I think it is important to learn the facts before you decide on how you can best decide on the purchase of insurance coverage for something so important.

Almost all dental insurance companies use what is called a Usual, Customary and Reasonable (UCR) fee guide. This means that the insurance company sets their own price that they will allow for every dental procedure that they cover. This is not based on what a dentist actually charges, but what the dental insurance company wishes to cover. For example, your dentist may charge $95 for a dental cleaning, but your insurance company will only allow $64 because that is the UCR fee that they have set. With a dental plan, the company sets the price you will pay the dentist even if he charges more.

At least 90 percent of dental insurance policies carry a "missing tooth clause" or a "replacement clause." Many dental insurance policies include at least one of these clauses, but most have both. A missing tooth clause protects the insurance company from paying for the replacement of a tooth that was missing before the policy was in effect. For example, if you lost a tooth before your coverage started and later decided that you would like to have a partial, bridge or implant, the insurance company would not have to pay for that service if they have a missing tooth clause in the plan. A replacement clause is similar except that the insurance company won't pay to replace procedures such as dentures, partials or bridges until the specified time limit has passed. In my research I found dental plans will cover you within 24 to 48 hours including preexisting conditions and one company even covers dental implants.

Well, now you have an alternative to that expensive necessity and it's called a Discount Dental Plan. For a small annual membership fee you can visit your dentist for anything including preexisting conditions and cosmetic dentistry. A good dental plan even covers things like dental implants which most dental insurance policies do not cover. You'll be amazed by the savings you can experience as a member of an inexpensive discount dental plan.

Adware, What Is It?

Adware is a type of Spyware program that displays some kind of banner advertising as you're surfing the Internet. Most of the time, you will pick these programs up if you download other programs such as freeware, shareware, and file-sharing programs. Adware, once it is on your system, can also send back information collected about you without you knowing it and without your permission.

If you're getting an excessive amount of pop-ups, chances are great that you have some kind of Adware on your computer. Depending on the program, these pop ups can just come one right after another. It gets really annoying!

It's well advised that if you are going to download any kind of program from the Internet, to read the fine print in the user agreement. A lot of times it will tell you that you will be sent advertising by downloading their program. A very good example is these free file-sharing programs, so read carefully.

Adware is not as dangerous as other infections, but it can end up being very annoying to you. A good way to combat this is to get a good Anti-Adware program and run it on a regular basis. Get one that updates itself to keep up to date on this junk called Adware.

In a nutshell, Adware is more annoying than it is dangerous. There are some very good software programs that you can download and help get rid of this problem, with most of them allowing you you to scan your computer free of charge. Get a well respected program that's been around a while and get rid of that Adware problem.

How Can You Curtail The Additional Cost of Your Events?

Event organizers often find it difficult to control the cost of the event. In most cases cost is often seen to exceed the revenue thereby eating up a large portion of the profit margins. In spite of repeated attempts, most event specialists are unable to cut down on the additional expenditures. This might raise valid questions on whether there are ways by which this extra outflow of funds can be curtailed.

Let me tell you that there are ways to do it. A little bit of patience and dedicated thinking can successfully help in reducing the event expenses. Follow the steps outlined below.

Preparing a List of the Expenses

The first and foremost thing that you need to do as an event organizer is to prepare a list of expenses that you will incur while hosting the event. Once you progress through this activity, you will find that the list is endless. From this endless list make a note of things without which your event cannot be executed, for example the venue, catering service, transportation (if any) and minor details, like coffee breaks, handouts, etc. On doing so, you will be able to easily identify the unnecessary elements that you have added to the list. Cancelling these unnecessary components can help in curbing any additional cost.

Proper Venue Selection

Venue selection is important but an improper choice of venue can add up to your cost. While choosing a location you should not only negotiate with the venue manager but should also ask whether there are any additional facilities if you choose to host your event there. By facilities I mean, providing free audio equipments, presentation equipments, etc. This will help in offsetting your cost to a large extent. Hiring these equipments from third party vendors can be quiet stiff at times.

Looking for Sponsors

Sponsors can play a significant role in controlling your event budget. You must consider bringing in sponsors as they pay a part of your event expenditure hence helping you to recover your expenses partially. Bringing in sponsors will also help in providing essential goods and services which you do not have to pay for. For instance, you can get hold of the local coffee shop to provide refreshments for your event or you can have an exhibitor who may be interested in showcasing his products at your event. In this manner you can allot the interested party with publicity or space for a stall which will distribute your operating cost to a certain extent.

Opting For Online Registration and Payment

Nowadays, there are various Cloud-based interfaces in the market that allows you to discard your age old method of paper registration and opt for an online registration system. This way you are not only reduce your cost but can also adding to the convenience of your event attendees. The service also comes embedded with a secure online payment management platform that eases your payment acceptance by allowing participants to transact using credit/ debit cards or various reputed payment gateways.

These are some steps that will help you to limit your additional cost and make your event hosting experience so much more fun and rewarding.

Hypnosis - Not Quite Utopia

Look, I want to have loads and loads of money, but I don't want to do any work in order to have it. Have you any suggestions? Seriously, apart from buying a lottery ticket - do you have any suggestions? I want to laze around all day and just have money arrive in my bank account, and not just little bits of money - loads and loads of it, and I want it guaranteed for life. Not only that but I want it right now, and I'm only prepared to pay you £40 for you to give that to me, and even that seems a little steep, so if you could give it for free that'd be great. I don't want to hear you saying that you might be able to help me, or that I might be able to learn something that might take a couple of months, I need it and I need it now.

I hope you are laughing.

I hope you are at least smiling.

Sounds a bit like a child doesn't it?

If you change money, to a cure for anxiety, or stress, or phobia, or smoking, or losing weight, or nail biting, or marital problems, or excessive drinking, or blushing, or headaches, or pain, or a whole host of other physical and psychological problems... then what you have in the opening paragraph is what most people expect from hypnosis.

Many don't want to be responsible for their own health, and don't want to put any personal effort (other than turning up for one, or at most two, appointments) into getting better and although a hypnotherapist is always the last resort, they expect miracles from him or her that they wouldn't dream of expecting from a psychologist, psychiatrist or medical doctor.

Hypnosis needs the full involvement of the patient in order for results to be achieved. It needs a commitment to stick with treatment until the problem is resolved or it is quite clear that the treatment is having no further impact on the problem. Sometimes we need our problems, but that's another article. And when we need our problems we are quite often strongly resistant to having someone help us to resolve them - or even to allow someone sufficient access to our minds to discover what exactly the reason is.

Another reason for the unreasonable expectations people have of hypnosis and hypnotherapists is that hypnosis is seen as some sort of general anaesthetic. I've lost track of the number of people (even doctors) who expect me to 'put them out', and are disappointed when that doesn't happen. But because they see hypnosis as a general anaesthetic they expect some sort of 'mental operation' to take place while they are 'out' and to be 'fixed' when they 'come round', as if their life-long anxiety pattern, or over-eating habit was some appendix that could be whipped out, the hole sewn up and the pain gone.

These problems can be helped, eased, or restored to what might be considered normal, using hypnosis. Sometimes it's straightforward, sometimes it takes effort and determination to resolve the issues that are reducing quality of life. I remember in my early days as a hypnotherapist, at the end of a course of treatment a patient said to me that what I had given her was like coming down on Christmas morning and opening a gift to find in it what she most desired in the world, it was like I'd given her her life back.

That's the potential of hypnosis.
